RIO DE JANEIRO/SAO PAULO (Reuters) -Brazilian state-run oil firm Petrobras reported on Tuesday oil, gas and gas liquids production of 2.77 million barrels of oil equivalent per day (boed) in the first quarter, down 0.2% from a year earlier. Petrobras' oil production in Brazil fell by 1% year-on-year, to 2.21 million barrels per day (bpd), said the firm, adding that the Almirante Tamandare floating production vessel (FPSO) started producing in February at the country's Buzios field. "The start of operations of the FPSO Almirante Tamandare is strategic for Petrobras and represents a sustainable expansion of production," said Renata Baruzzi, head of engineering, technology and innovation in Petrobras' sales and output report.

The founder and former CEO of the failed cryptocurrency lending platform Celsius Network should face 20 years behind bars for lying and self-dealing that cost customers billions of dollars in losses, prosecutors told a judge Tuesday. Alexander Mashinsky, 59, told thousands of customers that their money was safe and secure, leading to investors pouring over $20 billion into Celsius by 2021, they wrote in a submission ahead of a scheduled May 8 sentencing in Manhattan federal court. “They were not,” prosecutors said, noting that Celsius declared bankruptcy in 2022 and acknowledged that it could not return to customers what they had invested.
Starbucks reported fiscal second-quarter revenue and earnings that missed analysts’ expectations, sending shares lower in extended trading Tuesday.
Data analytics and digital solutions company ExlService Holdings (NASDAQ:EXLS) reported Q1 CY2025 results exceeding the market’s revenue expectations, with sales up 14.8% year on year to $501 million. The company expects the full year’s revenue to be around $2.05 billion, close to analysts’ estimates. Its non-GAAP profit of $0.48 per share was 8.8% above analysts’ consensus estimates.
The company also plans to forge ahead with its ETFs, which will include cryptocurrencies.
